Project DescriptionThis project consists of milling and resurfacing the existing roadway pavement surface on Midland Avenue from West Seneca Turnpike (NY 173) to West Ostrander Avenue. Approximately 1,300 linear feet of new sidewalk will be constructed to close the gap in sidewalk infrastructure along the east side of Midland Avenue between West Florance Avenue and Ballantyne Road. The traffic signal at the intersection of Midland Avenue and Ballantyne Road will be replaced and pedestrian signals upgraded to meet ADA requirements. In addition, all curb ramps in the corridor will be upgraded to meet ADA requirements.

Pedestrian & Bicycle AccessThe project is currently evaluating bicycle accommodation alternatives for the corridor. Existing pedestrian and bicycle access will be maintained through the study area during construction.

Work Zone Traffic ControlVehicular traffic will be maintained at all times for the duration of the construction project. At certain times during construction, traffic will be controlled by construction flaggers that will alternate the direction of traffic that can proceed around the work area while the other direction of traffic is stopped. Driveways will be accessible during the construction period.
